Too many people get married for the wrong reasons. That may help explain why 43 percent of all marriages in the U.S. fall apart. Divorce360 asked three leading marital experts for the top five right reasons and top five wrong reasons to get married. Here’s what they said:

WRONG REASON NUMBER 1:
Sexual attraction may not last forever.
Too many people confuse sexual attraction with love and that can lead to a short-lived marriage, explains Michele Weiner Davis, a Boulder, Colorado-based therapist and author of “The Sex-Starved Marriage” and “The Sex-Starved Wife” (published in January 2008). “The novelty of being with someone will turn on anyone,” she says. When the sexual attraction wanes, if there’s no mutual trust and a joint view of the future, the marriage fades as well. Her advice is clear: sexual attraction between two people is a good thing and energizes the marriage. But if the foundation isn’t based on strong communication and shared values, the chances of a long-lasting marriage based solely on animal attraction aren’t good.

The ad in ‘Washingtonian Magazine’ read: “Looking for a man who lives by his word(s), who laughs at himself easily, who is able to say what’s hard to say, and who believes that life is what you make it. Also, we blend work, play, and contribution in such measures that they are indistinguishable. Free-lancer (like me) preferred but extraordinary 9-5ers considered.”

Andy Murphy didn’t see the ad, but two friends did and both of them knew that Andy was looking for that special someone. One of them wrote to Teresa Flynn, the ad’s author, on Andy’s behalf. The other read the entire ad into Andy’s phone answering machine saying, “She’s looking for you. Don’t pass on this.” He didn’t and today, almost 20 years later, Andy and Teri Murphy joyfully blend work, play and contribution while writing together on mountain and seaside retreats and helping friends in need.

Someone in their wisdom decided it would be fun to find out which 10 cities in America are the most lustful – measured (ie enjoy the most sex) by analyzing the purchases of condoms. Seems a reasonable idea.

So AC Nielsen (some researches just have all the fun) measured the per capita index of over the counter contraceptive purchases. So the average is 100. Are you with me so far? One city topped the list with an index of 289. Other cities that ranked in the top 10 were Seattle, Washington, D.C. and Salt Lake City. Metropolitan areas one might expect to see ranked very high like New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, had average or below average indexes.

So drum roll……Denver is proudly the condom capital of the United States.

How do you cope without sex for a long extended period of time

Granted, sex is a tiny part of marriage, yet it is a very wholesome part. I have been without sex since October and it has become a challenge to continue on in life as I know some of you may have experienced it. I have never made love to any other woman, just my wife. I was always faithfull and I have had plenty of offers which I have rejected. I am disease free which is quite uncommon today as a result. My dear friend’s, how do you cope without sex? It is one of the branches of divorce that we soon discover. Plus I love her to death, but I cannot have her back as the betrayal was so great. Check my story and you will see for yourself. It truely is a nightmare from day to day. I donot know where it will lead as she canceled her appointment to divorce twice. She was to be in on the 27th and now it is on the 16th of July. She is stalling. Perhaps she is trying to awaken my love for her. I have gone there and done that and want a divorce at all cost. SO ANY ADVICE ON HOW TO COPE WITHOUT LOVEMAKING??
